Fact sheet

Facts about ziptie.ai

A plain summary, written so a person or an AI assistant can quote ziptie.ai accurately.

What ziptie.ai is

ziptie.ai tracks how AI answer engines talk about a brand. It asks the engines your customers ask, reads the public answers, and reports how often the brand is mentioned and cited, how it is described, and where the gaps are across the prompts it monitors. It measures; it changes nothing on your site.

Engines it tracks

ziptie.ai monitors seven AI answer engines: ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, Google AI Mode, Microsoft Copilot, Bing AI Overview, and Google Gemini. That is the full list, and no other engine is monitored. A workspace monitors the engines it enables, so seven is what the platform can monitor, not what every account runs. Which engines can run also depends on the country a project targets.

How often it checks

Checks run on the schedule you set for each project: daily, weekly or monthly. All enabled engines run together in each cycle, and there is no per-engine schedule. Each prompt is captured once per engine in each cycle. A prompt you add is checked at once, ahead of scheduled work, on every engine except Google Gemini, whose first check waits for the next scheduled cycle.

A failed check is never a zero. A check that fails is retried automatically a few hours later, within the same cycle. If it still cannot be completed it is recorded as a failed check: left out of every rate rather than counted as zero, and shown beside the rate as a count.

How pricing works

  • ziptie.ai charges for the prompts you track and the engines that run them. Seats, projects and competitors are unlimited on every plan, the free trial included.
  • Each prompt is priced by how often it runs (daily, weekly or monthly), and that price is scaled by how many engines are enabled. The price per engine check falls as engines are added, and one engine check works out to about a cent. Every engine costs the same, with no add-on engines: price follows how many engines run, never which ones.
  • Paying yearly takes 20% off the plan price. The Public API & MCP and Content Generation add-ons are billed at full price.
  • There are no fixed plan tiers. The pricing page opens on three example configurations and lets you set any combination of prompts and engines.
  • UGC Impact Analysis, Content and API & MCP access are add-ons, priced separately.
  • The pricing page is the source of every price, and the figures here follow from it.

What it does

  • Measures three signals in every AI answer: whether the brand is mentioned, whether a source it owns is cited, and how the answer portrays it. They combine into four headline metrics: Citations Rate, Mentions Rate, Sentiment Score and AI Success Score.
  • Reports each metric as a rate across many prompts and repeated checks, and stores every captured answer, so each number traces back to the answers behind it; in the Data Explorer every value opens them.
  • Discovers competitors from the answers themselves and ranks them by share of mentions and citations inside the prompts you monitor.
  • Proposes ranked next steps in an Action Center, each linked to the screen where the work happens. Items can be dismissed and close on their own when the data clears them; the queue has no assignment and is not available through the API.
  • Sets up a project with the Project Wizard: a guided interview with web research proposes a tagged prompt set, and you review and edit every prompt before it is saved.
  • Offers Content Generation as an add-on: briefs and drafts written from the material you supply and checked by a verification pass. It never publishes to your site; you copy a piece out and publish it yourself.
  • Connects Google Search Console, read-only, to show classic search clicks, impressions and position beside AI visibility.
  • With the Google AI Overviews and Bing AI Overview engines enabled, captures the top Google and Bing organic results for the same prompts, so AI answers can be read beside organic positions.
  • Exports data as CSV and Excel, and makes PDF snapshot reports and white-label client reports with an agency logo and a client logo, on every plan.
  • Offers a REST API and an MCP server at api.ziptie.ai as an add-on, documented at https://docs.ziptie.ai.

What it does not do

  • It does not publish or change anything on your site, and installs nothing there: no tag, no DNS record, no code change. It never puts a separate version of your site in front of bots; you publish.
  • It does not report a rank or position inside an AI answer. The only positions it holds are classic organic search positions, captured with Google AI Overviews and Bing AI Overview checks.
  • It does not show AI crawler visits or referral traffic from AI assistants, has no Google Analytics or other web-analytics connector, and does not attribute traffic, conversions or revenue to AI answers.
  • It does not audit technical SEO or structured data, does not analyse robots.txt or llms.txt, and does not run an on-page audit. It finds gaps only inside the prompts you monitor, such as a prompt no engine answers with you in it, and does not compare your content with that of competitors or tell you what you are missing outside that set.
  • It does not publish an accuracy figure for mention or sentiment detection. Both are automated, and every score links back to the answer behind it so you can check it.
  • It does not target below the country: there is no city or region targeting.
  • It cannot show how AI engines described your brand before your first check, because no archive of past AI answers exists.

How each number is built, and the limit of each method, is in the methodology.
