As one user on r/b2bmarketing put it:
“Most of these tools are monitoring-first. They show mentions and charts, but don’t always tell you what to actually fix. If I were choosing, I’d focus on features. Prompt-level tracking, real citations, competitor comparison, and repeatable testing. Otherwise it’s just reporting.”– u/purpleplatypus44
This guide compares eight platforms across six criteria that matter to agencies managing multiple clients, and ranks them. Facts about rival tools come from each vendor’s published pages and from independent reporting, dated in the text and listed under Sources at the end of the guide.
Full disclosure: This guide is published by ziptie.ai, the platform ranked #1 below, so it ranks itself first. We chose the criteria, and several of them describe things ziptie.ai does well. We state ziptie.ai’s limits in its own entry and genuine strengths for every competitor so you can make an informed decision – including choosing a different tool if it better fits your agency's needs. A fact about a rival appears only when a dated vendor page or an independent source supports it; a fact reported only by a competing vendor is marked as reported or left out.
Last verified: October 2026. Competitor plans, prices and features in this guide were checked against each vendor’s published pages and independent reporting in October 2026. They change often, so confirm details on the vendor’s own site before you buy.

Quick Comparison
How AI Search Tracking Actually Works: What to Check Before You Trust a Number
Before evaluating any specific tool, you need to understand two concepts that most listicles skip entirely – because they determine whether a tool’s data is worth acting on.
How the Answers Are Collected
AI search tracking tools collect answers in different ways. Some send prompts to a model’s API; others capture the answer from the consumer product a person would use. Vendors describe their own methods, and the descriptions differ:
- Peec says it uses browser automation against the consumer web interfaces as a logged-out user, with one response per prompt, model, country and day (Peec docs, read October 2026).
- Semrush says its responses are “captured from real requests and not via any APIs of LLMs” (Semrush knowledge base article 1607, read 21 October 2026).
- Otterly says it captures answers through the websites, except Claude, which it collects through an API (Otterly help center, page dated 17 July 2026).
- Evertune says it combines API access for “foundational knowledge” with fresh virtual-browser sessions (Evertune methodology page, read 21 October 2026).
- ziptie.ai sends each prompt to the engine with the project’s country and records the public answer and its citations as a logged-out baseline. It stores the full answer text and the cited sources with every check.
These are vendor statements, not independent accuracy tests, and this guide did not run one. Whether a given tool’s stored answers match what a person sees by hand is a question to put to the vendor, and the practical test is whether you can open the stored answer behind a number and compare it yourself.
AI answers also vary from run to run. SparkToro’s January 2026 study (2,961 runs of 12 prompts by 600 volunteers) found a chance of less than 1% that the same prompt returns the same list of brands twice. One answer therefore proves little: read rates across many prompts and repeated checks. Peec, Otterly and Profound each describe one capture per prompt per day for daily tracking in their own documentation (read October 2026), and ziptie.ai takes one capture per prompt per check cycle, so ask any vendor how it handles that variation.
The “Thermometer vs. GPS” Problem
A criticism that comes up in practitioner threads, including the r/b2bmarketing comment above, is that monitoring-first tools show mentions and charts without saying what to fix. Several rivals now ship action layers: Peec added Actions and a content optimizer on 13 October 2026, and Otterly added Recommendations on 16 April 2026 and a GEO Audit (vendor changelogs, read October 2026). The useful question is what a tool tells you to do next and where its guidance stops.
For an agency the answer matters most across 10, 20, or 50 clients: if guidance stops at the dashboard, your team exports data and works out the next step by hand. Ask each vendor to show exactly where its guidance ends.
Why AI Search Tracking Matters for Agencies Right Now
Buyers are asking AI chatbots first. G2’s 2026 AI Search Insight Report (March 2026; 1,076 B2B decision-makers in North America, EMEA and APAC) found that 51% of B2B software buyers start their research in an AI chatbot more often than in Google. G2 also reports that 69% chose a different vendor than they had planned because of what an AI chatbot told them.
AI-referred visits behave differently. Adobe Digital Insights data (July 2026 data, reported by Digital Commerce 360 in August 2026) shows 60% higher conversion from AI-referred visits than from other traffic.
Answers are inconsistent, so a single check is a weak signal. SparkToro (January 2026) found a chance of less than 1% that the same prompt returns the same list of brands twice. That is why agencies need repeated checks across many prompts, and why each engine should be tracked and read on its own terms.
Engine lists and engine pricing differ widely between tools. Some vendors include a fixed set of engines and charge extra for others; some price every engine alike. Check which engines a plan includes, which cost extra, and in which countries each engine runs before you commit.
How We Ranked These Tools
We compared eight AI search tracking platforms across six criteria that matter to agencies managing multiple clients. We chose the criteria, and ziptie.ai is the publisher, so the ranking reflects our choices; the table and each entry show the facts so you can weigh them differently:
Checkable Numbers & Documented Method– Can you open the answers behind a number, and is the capture method written down where a buyer can read it?
Engine Coverage & Engine Pricing– Which engines are tracked, which cost extra, and does the vendor say where each engine is available?
Search Context Beside AI Answers– Does the tool put AI visibility next to classic organic positions or Search Console data, so clients see both in one place?
Agency Workflow & Multi-Client Economics– Seats, client projects, white-label reporting, integrations, and per-client cost at scale.
Next-Step Guidance– Does the tool tell you what to look at next, and where does that guidance stop?
Price Transparency– Published prices, prompt limits and add-on costs before commitment.
We gave the first three criteria the most weight because they decide whether a tool’s numbers can be trusted and put in context. Other buyers will weigh them differently: a team that needs SOC 2 reporting or Claude coverage, for example, will rank these tools differently, and the entries below say so.
1. ziptie.ai – Best Overall for Agencies: Seven Engines, Checkable Numbers and Agency Economics
Overview
ziptie.ai is a dedicated AI search visibility platform, and it publishes this guide, so weigh this entry accordingly. It can monitor seven AI answer surfaces: ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Perplexity, Microsoft Copilot, Bing AI Overview and Google Gemini. Seven is the roster, not what every workspace runs: each workspace chooses its engines, and availability depends on country. Every engine is priced the same, so cost follows how many engines run, not which ones, and there are no add-on engines.
Pricing follows one rule: the price follows how many engines run, and every engine is priced alike. That works out to about a cent a check. Confirm figures in the in-product configurator before you budget, because the rate card can change.
Key Features
- Seven engines on the roster, one price rule – ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Perplexity, Microsoft Copilot, Bing AI Overview and Google Gemini, with checks run daily, weekly or monthly as set per project. Content and API Access are separate paid add-ons.
- Every AI visibility number opens the answers behind it – the full answer text and the cited sources are stored with every check. The four headline metrics are Citations Rate, Mentions Rate, Sentiment Score and AI Success Score, a weighted composite of those three that does not use answer placement.
- A failed check is never a zero – it is left out of every rate and counted beside the number, so a period where every check failed reads “No data” instead of 0%.
- AI answers beside classic search – Google and Bing top-10 organic positions are captured with the Google AI Overviews and Bing AI Overview engines, and a read-only Search Console connection (one property per project) adds clicks, impressions, CTR and average position. Search Console queries can be added to monitoring in one step.
- A guided prompt set – an onboarding interview with live web research builds the prompt set, you review and edit every prompt before it is saved, and an AI suggestion backlog tops itself up toward 100 pending candidates when it falls below 30, triggered when someone opens the Add Prompt dialog, because nothing refreshes it on its own. ziptie.ai does not crawl your site to generate prompts.
- An Action Center – one ranked queue per project that explains and links to the data behind each item. It does not draft the fix or change anything on your site; an optional paid Content add-on produces content briefs and drafts.
- Competitor and citation views – competitors are discovered from the answers themselves, with domains and URLs ranked by how often the engines cite them in your prompt set. Share of voice is a count share inside your own prompt set, not a market-wide measure.
Best For
Agencies running several client projects that want one per-check price across engines, numbers they can trace to the answers behind them, and AI visibility next to Google and Bing organic data – and that can work within the limits listed below. It suits agencies that have moved past the “are we showing up?” phase and want to see answers, citations and competitors for each client in one place.
Strengths
- Every engine priced alike, with no add-on engines. Seven are on the roster, each workspace runs the engines it configures, and availability depends on country. The price follows how many engines run, at about a cent a check.
- Numbers a buyer can check. Every AI visibility number opens the answers behind it, a failed check is left out of rates and counted instead of read as a zero, and ziptie.ai reports no rank inside an AI answer, by design, because answers vary between runs and a rate across many prompts describes a pattern better than one position. Detection of brand mentions and sentiment is model-based, and no accuracy figure has been measured.
- AI answers beside Google and Bing organic positions, plus a Search Console connection. Organic positions (top 10 only) come with the Google AI Overviews and Bing AI Overview engines. Connecting Search Console backfills 30 days, and each client project needs its own authorisation.
- Agency economics. Seats, projects and competitors are unlimited, and a white-label AI Search Visibility Report PDF with agency and client branding is included on every plan. Share links keep the ziptie.ai mark and expire after 14 days.
- A public methodology. How prompts are checked, how each metric is calculated and how failed checks are handled are written down on the ziptie.ai methodology page.
Limitations
ziptie.ai does not monitor Claude, Grok, Meta AI or DeepSeek, so teams that need those engines will need another tool for them; Profound’s Enterprise plan lists Claude and DeepSeek, and Evertune names Claude, DeepSeek and Meta, on their pages as of October 2026. ziptie.ai has no traffic attribution or GA4 connector, no AI crawler analytics, and no content-gap analysis: it measures what the AI answers say about a brand, not the traffic they send, which bots visit your site, or how your content compares with the pages engines cite. There is no SOC 2 report yet.
Each prompt is captured once per check cycle, cadence is set per project, and there is no on-demand check. Targeting is by country, one per project, with no city or region targeting. On the agency side there is no Looker Studio connector, no scheduled or emailed reports and no cross-client rollup, and each client project needs its own Search Console authorisation and its own API token. As a newer platform, ziptie.ai has limited independent third-party review coverage. Agencies whose clients need established vendor stability signals (years in market, volume of customer reviews, enterprise case studies) will find more established platforms with longer track records – a real consideration for agencies where client approval of tooling is required.
Verdict
We rank ziptie.ai first for agencies that want one per-check price across engines, numbers they can trace to the answers behind them, organic positions and Search Console beside AI answers, and agency economics without per-seat or per-project charges. It is the wrong fit today if you need Claude, Grok, Meta AI or DeepSeek, traffic attribution, crawler analytics, content-gap analysis or a SOC 2 report. A 7-day free trial with no card required is available. See how ziptie.ai tracks your brand's AI search visibility.
2. Otterly.ai – Best Budget Entry Point for Agencies Starting Their AI Search Tracking Journey
Overview
Otterly.ai has the lowest published starting price in this guide: the Lite plan is $29 a month for 15 prompts, Standard is $189 for 100 prompts and Premium is $489 for 400 (Otterly pricing page, fetched 22 October 2026). Every plan includes four engines – ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot. Google AI Mode and Gemini are paid add-ons ($9, $59 or $149 a month each on Lite, Standard and Premium), and Claude is a paid add-on ($29, $109 or $439 a month) collected through an API (Otterly pricing page, 22 October 2026; Otterly help center, 17 July 2026). Every prompt is tracked daily on all plans, once a day, with no manual refresh.
Otterly also has a Semrush App Center listing, but that listing dates from 2025 and tracked three engines weekly (Semrush knowledge base article 1487, screenshots dated January 2025), so it does not describe Otterly’s current product.
Key Features
- Four engines in every plan, with Google AI Mode, Gemini and Claude as paid add-ons
- Looker Studio connector from the Standard plan, plus branded Looker Studio reports, bonus prompts and pitch workspaces for Agency Partners, and PDF reports with an optional logo (Otterly pricing and agencies pages, October 2026)
- Recommendations, a GEO Audit and Query Fan-Out, added in 2026 (Recommendations on 16 April, Query Fan-Out on 25 June), and Agent Analytics for AI crawler and agent logs from August 2026 (Otterly changelog, read 21 October 2026)
- Unlimited team members, and plan cards that list “Unlimited Countries & Languages” as of 19 October 2026 (PricingSaaS, an independent price tracker)
Best For
Solo practitioners, freelancers, and small agencies (1 to 5 clients) testing AI search tracking before committing to a larger platform. Agencies that want Looker Studio client reporting can get the connector from the Standard plan; Otterly documents branded Looker Studio reports, logo PDFs and an Agency Partner program, but it does not document a fully white-labelled client portal or a custom domain (pricing and agencies pages, October 2026).
Strengths
- Lowest published starting price in this guide – the $29 a month Lite plan is the cheapest way here to try AI search tracking for a handful of prompts
- Agency-oriented extras from Standard upward – a Looker Studio connector, API and MCP access, and an Agency Partner program with pitch workspaces
Limitations
On the Lite plan, 15 prompts across 5 clients is 3 prompts per client – barely enough to establish baseline visibility for a single product line, and Lite has no Looker Studio connector, API or MCP access. Agencies scaling beyond a handful of clients will need the $189 a month Standard plan quickly, and the engine add-ons raise the price further. Otterly does not generate or publish content. Otterly says a SOC 2 audit is “an item on our roadmap but no date has been set” (Otterly help center, 18 June 2026).
Verdict
Otterly.ai is a sound starting point for agencies that want to explore AI search tracking without a significant budget commitment. Budget for the Standard plan, and for the engine add-ons you need, if you serve more than a few clients or want Looker Studio reporting.
3. Profound – Best for Enterprise Agencies with Compliance Requirements and High-Volume Data Needs
Overview
Profound is an enterprise-focused AI visibility platform. Its pricing page (fetched 22 October 2026) lists a free 7-day Trial (50 prompts, three engines), a custom Enterprise plan covering up to nine answer engines – ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Mode, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, DeepSeek, Claude, Google AI Overviews and Exa Search – and a self-serve Agency Growth plan. The page does not list Grok, Meta AI or Bing AI Overview. Its enterprise page (read 21 October 2026) lists SOC 2 Type II and SSO (SAML or OIDC). Its documentation lists SCIM directory sync, and its changelog records SCIM provisioning shipping on 21 August 2026. A third-party directory (TrustLists) reports that Profound’s trust center lists HIPAA; this guide did not read the trust center directly, so confirm HIPAA with Profound.
Key Features
- Up to nine answer engines on the Enterprise plan, with three on the Trial (Profound pricing page, 22 October 2026)
- Agent Analytics reads server logs forwarded from your CDN or host (for example CloudFront, Cloudflare, Vercel, Fastly or Akamai) to show which AI crawlers visit a site, and it is included free in the Trial (Profound docs, read 21 October 2026)
- Prompt Volumes (formerly Conversation Explorer) is built from licensed consumer-panel conversations supplied by third parties that Profound does not name; Profound says it covers over 2 billion real user prompts and 35 countries (Profound Series D release, 15 September 2026)
- SOC 2 Type II, SSO and SCIM – SOC 2 Type II and SSO are listed on its enterprise page, and SCIM in its docs and changelog
- Agency Growth plan with a separate workspace for each client and 400 credits a month per client workspace (Profound pricing page, 22 October 2026)
Best For
Large enterprise agencies serving clients in regulated industries, where SOC 2 Type II is a hard requirement (HIPAA should be confirmed with Profound directly) and coverage of up to nine engines is needed.
Strengths
- Compliance credentials – SOC 2 Type II and SSO are listed on Profound’s own enterprise page (read 21 October 2026), and SCIM in its docs and changelog. HIPAA is reported on its trust center by a third-party directory, and this guide did not read the trust center directly. Other vendors report SOC 2 Type II as well, for example Scrunch (Scrunch FAQ, read 21 October 2026), so compliance alone does not single Profound out.
- Crawler and agent analytics from server logs, which Otterly (Agent Analytics, August 2026) and Peec (Crawl Insights) now also offer, according to their changelogs and docs
Limitations
Enterprise pricing is custom. Earlier reviews cited self-serve brand plans at several hundred dollars a month; Profound’s pricing page of 22 October 2026 lists a Trial, a custom Enterprise plan and the Agency Growth plan, so confirm current terms with Profound before budgeting. A competitor’s article (eClincher, 8 October 2026) reports $399 per client workspace on Agency Growth; treat that as reported, not confirmed. No independent accuracy test of Profound was found for this guide.
Verdict
Profound is the right choice for enterprise agencies where compliance credentials and broad engine coverage are hard requirements and a custom enterprise contract is acceptable. Agencies without compliance mandates should compare engine coverage, pricing and what they can verify before committing.
4. Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit – Best for Agencies Already in the Semrush Ecosystem
Overview
Semrush’s AI Visibility Toolkit adds AI visibility tracking to a large, established SEO platform. Adobe completed its acquisition of Semrush on 28 April 2026, so Semrush is now part of Adobe (Adobe press release, republished by StockTitan). According to Semrush’s knowledge base (article 1493, re-read 22 October 2026), the toolkit costs $99 a month with 25 Prompt Tracking prompts and one domain; each user needs their own $99 licence, an extra domain or location is $99 a month, and 50 more prompts are $60 a month.
Key Features
- Daily Prompt Tracking on Google AI Mode, Google AI Overviews, Gemini and ChatGPT Search, and a weekly Brand Performance report covering AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini (Semrush knowledge base article 1607, read 21 October 2026)
- A database of over 317 million prompts and responses, according to Semrush (article 1607)
- A documented method: Semrush says responses are captured from real requests and not via any APIs of LLMs, and that no platform can provide exact numbers on visibility. Whether sessions are logged in or logged out is not stated.
Best For
Agencies already working in Semrush that want to add AI search tracking as a supplementary data layer without changing their primary platform – particularly those where AI search optimization is one service among many rather than a core specialty being built as a primary revenue line.
Strengths
- Low switching cost for existing Semrush agencies – AI visibility sits in the same account as keyword research, competitor analysis and site audits that your team already uses
- A large, established vendor – now part of Adobe, which matters for agencies where vendor longevity is a purchase consideration
Limitations
Each user needs their own $99 licence, which adds up for agency teams, and extra domains or locations cost $99 a month each (Semrush knowledge base article 1493). Different reports track different engines, Microsoft Copilot is not in the SMB toolkit (Semrush Enterprise AIO added it on 1 December 2025), and Claude, Grok and DeepSeek are not listed in article 1607. Prompt limits are small at the entry price: 25 prompts for one domain.
Verdict
If your agency lives in Semrush and wants AI search data without adding another vendor, the AI Visibility Toolkit is a pragmatic choice. If AI search is becoming a core client deliverable across many clients, compare per-user licences and prompt limits against dedicated platforms before you commit.
5. SE Ranking / SE Visible – Best for Traditional SEO Agencies Transitioning to AI Search Tracking
Overview
SE Ranking offers a transitional option for agencies moving from traditional SEO into AI search tracking. Its dual product approach – an AI Search add-on within the existing SE Ranking platform plus a standalone product called SE Visible – lets agencies start within their current workflow or adopt a dedicated AI visibility tool. According to SE Ranking’s subscription page (read 21 October 2026), the Core plan includes 100 GEO prompts tracked daily (EUR 109 at list price), the AI Search add-on starts at EUR 79 a month for 200 prompts, and the Agency Pack, an add-on at about EUR 59 a month, includes white-label branding, 30 client seats and scheduled reports.
A price of $79 a month billed annually for 200 weekly prompts is reported for SE Visible by Exploding Topics (28 August 2026), a site that discloses Semrush ownership; SE Visible’s own pricing page could not be read in October 2026, so treat that price as unconfirmed.
Key Features
- AI visibility tracking across AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT and Gemini in SE Ranking’s own tracker (SE Ranking subscription page, October 2026); Exploding Topics reports that SE Visible also covers Perplexity, at a weekly cadence
- White-label branding and scheduled reports through the Agency Pack add-on, not on every tier
- Combined traditional SEO and AI visibility in one platform, reducing dual-tool reporting overhead
Best For
Traditional SEO agencies that want to add AI search tracking to existing service offerings without a dramatic platform shift – agencies where AI tracking supplements a broader SEO service rather than standing alone as a specialized practice area.
Strengths
- A short path from a traditional SEO workflow to combined SEO and AI tracking – minimal disruption to existing client reporting processes and team habits
- Published prices for the AI Search add-on and the Agency Pack, so per-client cost can be worked out before a sales call
Limitations
White-label branding sits in the Agency Pack add-on rather than in every plan, and the Agency Pack is limited to 30 client seats. As a traditional SEO platform that added AI tracking, its AI-specific depth may differ from that of dedicated AI search tools, and this guide did not compare them hands-on. The standalone SE Visible product is newer, and its own pricing could not be confirmed in October 2026.
Verdict
SE Ranking is a reasonable choice for traditional SEO agencies that want to add AI search tracking without disrupting established workflows. For agencies where AI search is already the primary focus, compare dedicated tools on engine coverage, prompt limits and how answers can be checked.
6. Evertune.ai – Best for Brand Marketing Teams Measuring Unaided AI Brand Visibility
Overview
Evertune brings a different measurement philosophy to AI search tracking. It was founded in 2024 by ad-tech veterans, with Brian Stempeck as CEO (Gartner Market Guide for Answer Engine Visibility Tools, 9 March 2026), and raised a $15 million Series A led by Felicis in August 2025 (GlobeNewswire release, 12 August 2025); an independent tally puts its total funding at about $19 million (Value Add VC, 16 October 2026). Evertune measures unaided brand visibility – how often a brand appears in AI responses when the brand name is not in the prompt – through its AI Brand Index, which Gartner describes as a measure of unaided and aided awareness. This makes it most relevant for brand marketers measuring organic AI share of voice, not agencies tracking client SEO performance.
Evertune says it combines API access for “foundational knowledge” with fresh virtual-browser sessions, and that its Pro plan takes 100 samples per prompt. Its EverPanel, which Evertune says draws on over 150 million real conversations, feeds Prompt Volumes (Evertune methodology page, read 21 October 2026).
Key Features
- Model coverage that scales by plan: Starter covers up to five models and Pro covers 11, according to Evertune’s pricing page (fetched 22 October 2026). Its site names nine (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Perplexity, Copilot, DeepSeek and Meta), so confirm the exact model list with Evertune.
- AI Brand Index for unaided brand visibility measurement, which Evertune positions as the AI counterpart of unaided brand awareness research
- Prompt Lab and Prompt Volumes (EverPanel) on the Pro plan, which address query discovery without requiring an external tool
Best For
Brand marketing teams and the large enterprise agencies that serve them – specifically brands measuring unaided AI brand perception and organic share of voice across many AI platforms, where the primary question is “how does AI perceive our brand?” rather than “are we cited in AI search results?”
Strengths
- A measurement approach built around unaided visibility – how brands appear when they are not directly searched for, the AI counterpart of unaided brand awareness studies. This is the right metric for brand marketers more than for SEO practitioners.
- Published pricing with a low entry point: Starter is $60 a month (5,000 prompt credits) and Pro is $800 a month billed annually (100,000 credits), with a custom Enterprise plan (Evertune pricing page, 22 October 2026)
Limitations
Evertune’s Starter listing does not mention statistical significance, which it lists for Pro (pricing page, 22 October 2026), and full 11-model coverage and 100 samples per prompt start at the $800 a month Pro plan, billed annually. Evertune is oriented to brand measurement, so agencies should evaluate whether the unaided measurement approach matches their client’s primary question before committing to an annual contract. A $5,000-a-month minimum, as an earlier version of this guide stated, does not match its current pricing page.
Verdict
Evertune is a strong fit for brand teams that want unaided brand-perception measurement. For agencies focused on citations, organic positions and day-to-day client reporting, its brand-measurement orientation solves a different problem than agency-focused AI search tracking.
7. Peec AI – Best Entry-Level Tool for B2B/SaaS Agencies Needing Clean, Simple Dashboards
Overview
Peec AI, a Berlin company, presents AI visibility data with prompt-level breakdowns showing how a brand appears in a specific AI response. Peec’s own page (last updated July 2026, with pricing “confirmed live” on 10 July 2026) lists Starter at $95 a month for 50 prompts, Pro at $245 for 150 and Advanced at $495 for 350, each with three engines chosen from six (ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Perplexity, Gemini and Microsoft Copilot), daily tracking and unlimited users. Extra engines are monthly add-ons ($35 on Starter, $85 on Pro, $165 on Advanced). Claude, DeepSeek, Grok and other models are upgrade or Enterprise options, several collected through APIs. One independent review (Xtrusio, read off the live page on 10 October 2026) lists Perplexity as an extra model, so check the engine list when you sign up.
Key Features
- A documented capture method: browser automation against consumer web interfaces as a logged-out user, one response per prompt, model, country and day (Peec docs, read October 2026); one independent review calls the documentation thin (Generate More, 28 August 2026)
- Prompt-level breakdowns, sentiment and a Position metric showing how brands appear within individual AI responses, including average rank among the brands where yours appears (Peec docs, October 2026)
- Actions, a content optimizer and an Agent shipped on 13 October 2026, alongside GA4 AI referrals (11 September 2026) and Crawl Insights (Peec changelog, read October 2026)
- Looker Studio on the Advanced plan and above, and unlimited users on every brand plan
Best For
B2B/SaaS agencies that need a straightforward AI visibility monitoring tool with a documented capture method and clean client-facing dashboards, and that are comfortable choosing three engines from the six on offer.
Strengths
- A published method and a published price list, so a buyer can read how answers are captured and what each tier costs before talking to sales
- An expanding product: in the months before October 2026 Peec added recommendations, GA4 referrals and crawler analytics, so older descriptions of it as monitoring-only are out of date
Limitations
Each brand plan includes three engines chosen from six, so every extra engine adds a monthly charge. The API is available on Enterprise only (Peec docs), single sign-on is SAML only with no OIDC or SCIM (Peec docs), and Peec says it is pursuing SOC 2 rather than holding a report.
Verdict
Peec AI is a clean, well-documented entry point for B2B/SaaS agencies that want simple AI visibility monitoring with published pricing. Check the engine list, the add-on charges and the Enterprise-only API against your clients’ requirements before you commit.
8. BrightEdge – Best for Enterprises Already on BrightEdge Who Want AI Tracking Without Switching
Overview
BrightEdge is an established enterprise SEO platform that has layered AI search tracking onto its existing product through AI Catalyst. Its AI Catalyst page (read 21 October 2026) lists ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode and Gemini, plus other AI platforms it does not name. Gartner lists BrightEdge among the 14 representative vendors in its Market Guide for Answer Engine Visibility Tools (9 March 2026). Its clearest use case: enterprises that already use BrightEdge and want AI tracking without adopting a new platform.
Key Features
- AI Catalyst for AI visibility tracking across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode and Gemini
- Vendor-built prompts and persona variation, as described on its AI Catalyst page
- Integrated with BrightEdge’s enterprise SEO platform for combined traditional and AI search management
Best For
Large enterprise agencies and brands already using BrightEdge for SEO that want to add AI search tracking without adopting a new platform and need to leverage their existing BrightEdge investment.
Strengths
- No new platform for existing customers – AI tracking arrives inside the SEO suite an enterprise team already runs
- Recognised by analysts: Gartner includes BrightEdge among the representative vendors in its 2026 Market Guide for Answer Engine Visibility Tools
Limitations
BrightEdge is not a purpose-built AI search tracking tool – AI features are layered onto a traditional SEO platform. It does not publish pricing: the model is custom enterprise pricing, with a quote on request, and no self-serve option, which makes it hard to budget before a sales conversation. Its page does not list every AI platform it tracks, so confirm the engine set for your contract.
Verdict
BrightEdge is the right choice mainly if you are already on BrightEdge and need AI tracking integrated into your existing enterprise SEO workflow. For every other agency, compare dedicated AI search tracking tools on engine coverage, published pricing and how answers can be checked.
Decision Framework by Agency Type
Red Flags to Watch for When Evaluating AI Search Tracking Tools
When evaluating any platform in this category, these warning signs suggest a vendor may not deliver reliable results:
No methodology documentation. If a vendor cannot clearly explain how it collects answers – API calls or the consumer product, logged in or logged out, which country – the data quality is an unknown risk. Ask directly during any demo and compare their answer against the methods described above.
Prompt or credit limits that do not scale per client. A $29/month plan with 15 prompts (Otterly Lite, October 2026) sounds affordable until you realize that covers 3 prompts per client across 5 accounts. Calculate your actual per-client usage before committing to any credit-based pricing model.
Generic optimization recommendations. If the “optimization” feature produces advice like “improve your content quality” or “add relevant keywords,” it is repackaging generic SEO guidance, not providing AI-search-specific intelligence. Ask for a live demo of optimization output on a real page before purchasing.
No way to open the answers behind a number. Tools that show a score or a mention count without letting you see the actual AI answer ask you to trust a black box. Agencies need to check data against what they see by hand – particularly for client deliverables.
Pricing only disclosed after a sales call. If a vendor will not provide any pricing indication before committing time to demos, budget planning becomes impossible and surprise enterprise pricing wastes your team’s hours. Transparency here signals how the vendor relationship will operate post-purchase.
Defensive responses to methodology questions. The vendors worth working with will welcome informed questions about how their tracking works. The ones that become defensive when asked how answers are captured are giving you the most important signal of all.
Questions to Ask Any AI Search Tracking Vendor
Use these questions during evaluations to cut through marketing and identify genuine fit:
- How do you capture AI search results – API calls, browser rendering, or a hybrid approach? Are sessions logged in or logged out, and how many captures do you take per prompt?
- Does your tool help me identify which queries to track, or do I manually enter and validate every prompt? What happens to agencies that track the wrong prompts?
- Beyond monitoring, what specific actions does your tool recommend to improve a client’s AI search visibility? Can you show me a live example of an optimization recommendation on an actual page?
- How do prompt or credit limits work at agency scale? What is the realistic per-client cost if I am managing 20 clients across different industries?
- Can I see the full AI response text behind every number, or only summarized metrics? How do I verify your data against what I see when I manually run the same query?
- How do you handle tracking for clients operating in different countries? Which countries are supported and how does coverage vary by engine?
- What compliance certifications do you hold, and which industries require them? If I serve healthcare or financial services clients, what documentation can you provide?
How We Ranked These Tools
Traditional AI search tool evaluation focuses on platform count and feature lists. Here is what we assessed instead, and why each factor matters to an agency:
Checkable Numbers & Documented Method A number you cannot trace to an answer is hard to defend in front of a client. We looked at whether each tool lets you open the stored answers behind its metrics and whether its capture method is written down where a buyer can read it. Several vendors describe their method in public documentation; this guide did not test any of them.
Engine Coverage & Engine Pricing We compared which engines each tool tracks, which ones cost extra, and whether the vendor states where each engine is available. Engine count alone says little: a tool that tracks many engines on an enterprise contract and one that prices every engine alike solve different budgeting problems.
Search Context Beside AI Answers Clients still read classic search results. We noted whether a tool shows organic positions or Search Console data beside AI visibility, so one report can cover both.
Agency Workflow & Multi-Client Management Agencies managing several clients need seats, client projects, client-ready reporting and sensible per-client economics. We looked at how prompt and credit limits translate to cost per client, and at which reporting features exist, such as white-label reports and Looker Studio connectors.
Next-Step Guidance Monitoring tells you a problem exists; guidance tells you where to look next. We noted what each tool offers after the dashboard and where that guidance stops, without crediting any tool for fixing things it does not fix.
Price Transparency We looked at where pricing tiers become insufficient, what “contact sales” means in practice, and where the gap sits between budget entry tools and enterprise-only platforms. Published pricing before commitment was treated as a positive signal; hidden costs discovered after a trial as a negative one.
We weighted the first three criteria most heavily because they decide whether a tool’s output can be trusted and put in context. Engine coverage, agency workflow and pricing are meaningful differentiators, and your own priorities may reorder them.
Research basis: This evaluation used each vendor’s published pricing, product and documentation pages, vendor changelogs, and independent reporting, read in October 2026 with dates given in the text and in Sources below. It did not include hands-on testing of rival products. All pricing and feature data reflects information publicly available as of October 2026. Verify current pricing at each vendor’s website before committing.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between API-based and browser-level AI search tracking?
API-based tracking sends prompts to a model’s API and records what comes back. Browser-level, or consumer-product, tracking records the answer from the interface a person actually uses. Vendors use different methods and describe them in their own documentation (see the section above), and this guide did not test how closely either method matches what a person sees. Because AI answers also vary from run to run (SparkToro, January 2026), the practical test is whether you can open the stored answer behind any number and compare it yourself.
How much does AI search tracking software cost for agencies?
As of October 2026, published starting prices in this guide run from $29 a month (Otterly.ai Lite, 15 prompts) and $60 a month (Evertune Starter) to $99 a month per licence (Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit, 25 prompts) and $800 a month billed annually (Evertune Pro); Profound Enterprise and BrightEdge are custom enterprise quotes. ziptie.ai prices per prompt rather than per tier: the price follows how many engines run, which comes to about a cent a check (confirm in the in-product configurator). The key consideration is not sticker price but per-client economics: a $29/month plan with 15 prompts across 10 clients is 1.5 prompts per client – insufficient for meaningful monitoring. Calculate your actual per-client prompt needs before selecting a pricing tier.
Which AI platforms should agencies track for clients?
Track the engines your clients’ buyers use, and check each vendor’s engine list before you commit. ziptie.ai can monitor seven (ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Perplexity, Microsoft Copilot, Bing AI Overview and Google Gemini); which engines run is each workspace’s own configuration, and availability depends on country. ziptie.ai does not monitor Claude, Grok, Meta AI or DeepSeek. Profound’s Enterprise plan lists up to nine engines, Peec’s brand plans include three chosen from six, and Otterly includes four with add-ons for others (vendor pages, October 2026). Each engine answers differently, so each one needs separate tracking.

Conclusion
The six ranking criteria in this guide are not just for evaluating these eight options – they are a framework you can apply to any AI search tracking vendor you encounter, including platforms not yet listed here. Print the questions-to-ask list, take it to every demo, and compare answers across tools.
If your agency needs a low-risk entry point, Otterly.ai’s $29/month Lite plan has the lowest published starting price in this guide, and the Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit adds tracking inside an account you may already use. If you are managing a traditional SEO agency transitioning to AI services, SE Ranking / SE Visible offers a short path with an Agency Pack add-on for white-label reporting. If you serve regulated enterprise clients where compliance certifications are mandatory, Profound lists SOC 2 Type II on its enterprise page, and a third-party directory reports HIPAA on its trust center, so confirm HIPAA with Profound. If you manage brand perception at scale, Evertune’s unaided brand visibility measurement is built for that problem. If you are already on BrightEdge, AI Catalyst integrates AI tracking without platform disruption.
For agencies that want one per-check price across seven engines, numbers they can trace to the answers behind them, organic positions and Search Console beside AI answers, and unlimited seats and projects with a white-label client report, ziptie.ai is the tool we rank first – with the limits stated in its entry: no Claude, Grok, Meta AI or DeepSeek, no traffic attribution, crawler analytics or content-gap analysis, no SOC 2 report yet, and one capture per prompt per cycle.
Whichever tool you choose, ask two questions before you buy: “Can I open the answers behind each number?” and “What do I do with this data?” Any tool that cannot answer both is a dashboard, not a strategy platform.
This guide is updated as the AI search tracking landscape evolves – pricing, features, and platform capabilities change frequently in this category. If you spot outdated information about any platform listed here, reach out and we will correct it.
